During the entire month of October, we invite you all to experience God in a new way – in a more sacrificial way as you revive, restore, and renew your mind, body, spirit and worship.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." - Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)

R3 Prayer Challenge

Starting October 4, we will begin our R3 Prayer Challenge where we will be mediating on God’s Word and praying each week together as One Body in Christ.

Each week, you can take the challenge by:
  • Reading and meditating on the Verse of the Week
  • Using the Prayer for PMBCJC to pray for our church
  • Using the Personal Prayer to pray for yourself
  • Committing to each Action Step

Week 1 (October 4th - 10th)

Verse of the Week: Romans 12:1-5

  • Prayer for PMBCJC: Pray that in the months ahead God will pour out His Spirit upon our church and within our hearts to help us experience revival that transforms us (individually and collectively) and our community.

  • Personal Prayer: Father, too often my mind is deflected from Jesus onto the things of the world, especially when times are difficult, but I want to keep my mind on Christ, knowing that this is Your best will for me. I pray that I become increasingly aware of the Spirit's promptings in my life, so that day by day, my heart and mind may become saturated with the lovely Lord Jesus. May His nature be reflected through my actions and attitude and may my life be transformed daily, by the renewing of my mind. Help me to prove in my life what Your will for me is and may I do only those things that are good, and acceptable and perfect in Your sight - for Your praise and glory, and for the benefit of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Action Step: Reflect on those temptations you are struggling with or that presents a challenge in your life. Sacrifice your agenda and commit to doing life God’s way this week. Really practice it daily. Ask others for their prayers, encouragement and accountability in this quest. See the power of God when you submit completely to His plan.

Week 2 (October 11th - 17th)

Verse of the Week: 1 John 4:7-10

  • Prayer for PMBCJC: Pray that we would be committed as a church to love those who are made in the image of God just as God loves us.

  • Personal Prayer: Father, I can only love others with Your love as Your love floods into my heart, for of myself my love is so limited. Pour forth Your love into my heart so that the love of Jesus streams out from me as rivers of His living water, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

  • Action Step: Let’s put this into action by committing to do one act of love for someone each day this week. It doesn’t have to be anything major. You could buy a coffee or tea for someone, have a conversation with an elderly person in your neighborhood or even send someone a hand-written note or a text message letting them know that you’re thinking about them. Be creative. Be intentional. Be loving.

Week 3 (October 18th - 24th)

Verse of the Week: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

  • Prayer for PMBCJC: Pray that we as a church family will continue to rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in every circumstance.

  • Personal Prayer: Father, thank you for being there, always. Give me a deeper appreciation and a more profound awareness of your presence this week. May my life reflect the joy you have given me by saving me by grace. And may my heart always find its home in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Action Step: This week, set a timer on your phone or watch to go off at a specific hour, twice each day. When the timer goes off, pray a prayer of thanksgiving for what God is doing at Palestine and for what He is doing in your own life!

Week 4 (October 25th - 31st)

Verse of the Week: John 4:23-24

  • Prayer for PMBCJC: Pray that each of us at PMBCJC would hold nothing back from worshiping God with all of who we are.

  • Personal Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the beautiful example of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lived His life in total dependence upon You and worshipped You in spirit and in truth. I pray that I may learn to depend on You fully and yield to the leading and guidance of your Holy Spirit - in willing submission. I pray that I may abide in Christ and He in me, knowing that only as I rest in Him will I be enabled to worship You as You deserve - in spirit and in truth. This I ask in Jesus name. AMEN.

  • Action Step: This week, commit to serving in a ministry at Palestine and contact the  Servant Leader whose ministries align with your spiritual gift(s) and S.H.A.P.E.
